PRIVACY

What this arcade keeps

There are no accounts and no advertising. The arcade counts play so its games can be improved. Here is exactly what is stored.

A random id in your browser

The first time you open the arcade, a random identifier is saved in your browser's local storage. It lets the arcade tell returning players apart and lets a table of friends count as several players. It is not linked to a name, an e-mail or anything outside this site. Clearing the site's data in your browser resets it.

What is recorded

Page views and how long a page stayed visible. Games started and finished, with the game, the mode, the duration, the score and whether a person or the computer won. The name you type at a multiplayer table is shown to the other players at that table and is not stored afterwards.

From the connection, at the moment of each event: the country and city, the browser, the operating system and device type, the screen size, the language and the time zone. The IP address itself is never stored.

If you sign in

Signing in is optional; it keeps your score between visits and puts you on the leaderboard. The arcade then stores the provider you used (Google, Apple, Discord or GitHub), the id that provider gives you, your display name and avatar URL, and your game tallies: Teeth, Noise, battles, games won and margins. One cookie named vg_s keeps you signed in for 180 days; it holds only a signed account id. Sign out to clear it. Write to the address below to have the account deleted.

What is not recorded

No tracking cookies, no third-party trackers, no fingerprinting, no IP addresses, no names, no e-mail addresses, no payment data. Nothing is sold or shared.

Where it lives and who sees it

Everything is stored on Cloudflare in a single database belonging to this site. Aggregates by day, game, country and device are public at /stats; individual rows are not.

Legal basis and contact

The data is pseudonymous usage data kept under legitimate interest in running and improving the games. Write to hello@vrg.li to ask what is held against your browser id or to have it deleted.
